Established in Sweden in 1983, IAR Systems is the world’s leading supplier of software tools for developing embedded systems applications. The software enables over 19,000 large and small companies to develop premium products based on 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers, mainly in the areas of industrial automation, medical devices, consumer electronics, telecommunication, and automotive products.
Product Overview
C/C++ compilers and debuggers
IAR Embedded Workbench features comprehensive and capable tools that enable you to develop new competitive products. Outstanding speed optimizations enable IAR Embedded Workbench to generate faster code than ever before. With the shortest possible execution times it is the ultimate choice for developing low-power applications. User-friendliness is improved with a new source browser and text editor. The world-leading C/C++ compiler and debugger tool suite, with the broadest MCU support, is now even more powerful.
Certified tools for functional safety
IAR Systems provides a reliable set of tools for developing safety-related applications, based on the C/C++ compiler and debugger tool suite IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM. The functional safety version of the tool suite is certified by TÜV SÜD according to the requirements of IEC 61508, the international umbrella standard for functional safety, as well as ISO 26262, which is used for automotive safety-related systems.
State machine tools
IAR visualSTATE is a set of highly sophisticated and easy-to-use development tools for designing, testing and implementing embedded applications based on state machines. IAR visualSTATE creates a graphical overview of the application, with direct graphical feedback on various levels of detail. It allows you to outline your application and then step by step add functionality at a more detailed level. The system structure is represented with a high-level, hierarchical perspective that enables you to maintain the overview of complex applications.
Starter kits
IAR KickStart Kit is a complete evaluation environment for embedded system applications available for a vast selection of target. Each starter kit contains all the hardware and software you need to get going quickly.
In-circuit debugging probes
IAR Systems offer a range of in-circuit debugging probes, covering different needs from initial to more advanced development. The probes are completely integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench, and targeted for simplified, seamless and more flexible development workflows.
I-jet features automatic core recognition, and direct download into the flash memory of most popular microcontrollers. It has the capability of measuring target power consumption with a high degree of accuracy, and can supply the target boards with power, entirely powered by USB. I-jet is available for microcontrollers based on any ARM core. I-scope adds current and voltage measurements capabilities to I-jet.
JTAGjet-Trace offers advanced trace functionality for ARM and ARM Cortex-based applications. It can perform trace acquisition of up to 400 MSamples/sec and it has a capture capacity of 18MB in the trace buffer. In addition, it features a Smart Flash Programmer, JTAG chain device detection, and variable and adaptive JTAG clock.
