A Global Supplier of Innovative Embedded Control Solutions
Zilog® is a trusted supplier of application specific, embedded system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for the industrial and consumer markets. From its roots as an award-winning architect in the microprocessor and microcontroller industry, Zilog has evolved it’s expertise beyond core silicon to include SoCs, single board computers, application specific software stacks and development tools that allow embedded designers quick time to market in areas such as energy management, monitoring and metering, and motion detection.
With our Encore! Products, you get the right solution for your embedded control needs. From our 8-bit Z8 Encore!® and Z8 Encore! XP® products, to our 16-bit ZNEO® products, Zilog provides the solutions that help you get your innovative ideas to market faster. Optimized for motor control applications, the Z8 Encore! MC FMC16100 Series devices support the control of Single and Multiphase variable-speed motors.
The Z8FMC16100 MCU features a flexible pulse width modulator (PWM) module with three complementary pairs or six independent PWM outputs supporting programmable dead-band and fault protection trip input. These provide multiphase control capability for a variety of motor types and ensure safe operation of the motor by providing Pulse-by-Pulse or latched fast shutdown of the PWM pins during fault condition. The ADC has a 2uS conversion time and can be triggered automatically by the PWM module reducing interrupt rates and jitter for back EMF or current measurements.
Zilog’s Z16FMC Series MCU, a part of the Flash Motor Control family of devices, is a powerful 16‐bit CISC microcontroller that outperforms most RISC microcontrollers in its class. The Z16FMC boasts a unique architecture that provides the power, punch and performance of a 32‐bit micro with the code, current efficiency and cost of a 16‐bit. The Z16FMC features Zilog’s ZNEO® CPU, which boasts a highly‐optimized instruction set that achieves higher performance per clock cycle with less code space and lower overhead than competing architectures. Optimized for motor control applications, these devices are designed for the control of multiphase AC and DC variable‐speed motors. Target applications are large appliances, HVAC and industrial.
Give your connected devices the performance boost of 16-bit performance in an 8-bit. The Acclaim product line features speeds of up to 50MHz, on-chip Flash memory, and connectivity options such as embedded Ethernet. The eZ80Acclaim!® SOC and eZ80AcclaimPlus!™ Ethernet ASSP deliver the processing power and functions needed to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Additionally, Zilog offers a comprehensive rapid embedded application development tool suite and exceptional support slash prototype-to-production cycles.
ZNEO® Z16F is a powerful 16-bit CISC microcontroller that outperforms most RISC microcontrollers in its class. The ZNEO Z16F boasts a unique architecture that provides the power, punch, and performance of a 32-bit, with the code, current efficiency, and cost of a 16-bit.
The classic microcontroller line includes the award-winning Z80® and Z8® architectures that have withstood the test of time and have been embedded in over a billion end-use devices worldwide. Embedded design engineers have been using these proven performers as building blocks for their inspired designs for over 20 years -- and they continue to use them today. Why? This is because they're the perfect cost-effective, plug-and-play component solutions for a variety of general-purpose control and serial communications applications.
ZMOTION™ Detection and Control Product Family combine a series of high-performance microcontrollers with a selection of lenses and Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors to fit a wide range of application requirements. The microcontroller (ZMOTION MCU) features built-in software based motion detection algorithms with optimized configuration parameters for each lens/sensor combination. These motion detection algorithms comprise the ePIR™ Engine (Enhanced Passive Infrared) and run in the background of the ZMOTION MCU while control and status of the Engine is accessed through an API (Application Programmer Interface). This provides design flexibility and ensures the best possible motion detection performance while significantly reducing development risk and minimizing time to market.
