Wind River, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), is a world leader in embedded and mobile software. Wind River has been pioneering computing inside embedded devices since 1981 and its technology is found in more than 1 billion products.

As devices become smarter, they have more impact on the way we work, play, and live—from mobile phones that have evolved into always-on content delivery platforms, to medical devices that seamlessly integrate with patient management systems, to avionics and defense systems that enable pinpoint control and unparalleled safety. The challenge for developers is to keep the innovation flowing so that devices continue to get faster, more reliable, and more secure, while remaining affordable.

Wind River offers the industry's most comprehensive device development portfolio. Our solutions are hardware-agnostic, so you can deploy on multiple architectures, including Intel, Freescale, PowerPC, ARM, MIPS, and others. And our products are supported by outstanding professional services and customer support, hardware integration expertise, and a thriving partner ecosystem.

We're uniquely qualified to help you master the challenges of building smart, connected devices.

Product Overview

Run-Time Platforms
Wind River platform solutions tightly integrate an Eclipse-based, end-to-end, integrated development suite with a choice of Wind River Linux or VxWorks operating systems, a rich set of middleware run-time technologies, worldwide customer support, and professional training to enhance your team's capabilities. Wind River platforms can reduce effort, cost, and risk, as well as optimize quality and reliability at all phases of the device software development process, from concept to deployed product.

Wind River VxWorks
Wind River's VxWorks is the world's leading commercial real-time operating system (RTOS) and has been serving the needs of embedded systems of all shapes and sizes for more than 25 years.

Wind River Linux
Wind River Linux is the leading commercial embedded Linux platform and the first to bring companies in all industries the advantages of open source without the risks.

Wind River Mobile Linux
Wind River is leading that wave of change by offering platform-based solutions that leverage the open source software platforms from the leading consortia in the market.

Wind River Hypervisor
Developers can leverage multiple operating systems in a single device so they can expand and enhance device functionality. Wind River Hypervisor facilitates the adoption of multicore processors by increasing reliability and reducing risk, and it provides the new software configuration options required to architect next-generation embedded devices.

Wind River Workbench
Wind River Workbench is the industry's first and only Eclipse-based open device software development solution, offering deep capability across the entire development process in a single scalable, integrated suite. Workbench addresses the challenges individual developers and project teams face by increasing productivity, enabling collaboration between hardware and software developers, and meeting diverse development needs across an enterprise. The Workbench product line offers four configurations, enabling businesses to outfit their device software developers with a specific package tuned to their particular requirements.

Wind River Test Management
Wind River Test Management consists of two interoperable products that create a powerful, enterprise-wide infrastructure to enable development and software quality assurance (SQA) engineers to streamline the SQA process. Benefits include faster time-to-market, higher-quality products, and the ability to rapidly and remotely diagnose and repair software defects.

Wind River Simics
Simics creates a high-performance virtual environment in which any electronic system—from a single board to complex, heterogeneous, multi-board, multiprocessor, multi-core systems—can be defined, developed, and deployed. Using Simics, software developers can execute and debug their target software stack, from hypervisor to application.

Wind River Tilcon Graphics Suite
Wind River Tilcon Graphics Suite is a unique tool for building and deploying multiplatform, highly usable graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for embedded applications, using a complete codeless environment. The Tilcon technology platform offers users a complete end-to-end solution with both an advanced GUI/human machine interface (HMI) builder and a device-optimized run-time engine for a diversity of targets. This environment allows developers of industrial devices to complete designs and implement the user interfaces for their products on a host machine before deploying it to an embedded target. Wind River Tilcon Graphics Suite is integrated with Wind River's industry-leading VxWorks and Wind River Linux operating systems.

Development Tools
Wind River delivers advanced, standards-based on-chip debugging tools that simplify the hardware development process and seamlessly integrate hardware, firmware, and software debugging. Based on industry-standard (Eclipse) and patent-pending hardware diagnostic capabilities, Wind River on-chip debugging solutions combine hardware debugging with a project-based, integrated development environment to reduce development costs and complexity.

Wind River on-chip debugging (JTAG) solutions include the following:

RoHS/WEEE Compliance
All products shipped by Wind River are in compliance with European Union RoHS and WEEE requirements.
