PLS is among the worldwide leading suppliers of debugging solutions and complete development tools for 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers and System-on-Chips (SoC). Important architectures such as TriCore, Power Architecture, ARM, Cortex, XC2000/XE166, SH-2A, XScale and C166/ST10 as well as simulation platforms of different vendors are supported. Closely relationship to semiconductor vendors ensures availability and high quality of the tools. Partnership with a lot of other tool manufacturers leads to a high interoperability of the products.

PLS have customers and distributors in Europe, United States and Asia and provides engineers with tools especially in the fields automotive electronic and industrial automation as well as other fields of embedded devices.

Product Overview:

The innovative software architecture of the Universal Debug Engine (UDE) guarantees optimal conditions for the debugging and test of modern System-on-Chip (SoC) based systems. The intuitive and configurable user interface of the UDE offers unrestricted C/C++ support, a powerful symbol browser, freely configurable toolbars, extensive context related menus and HTML as description language for application specific windows. In addition, the uses of standard script languages ensure a high level of automation. By means of the intelligent use of modern on-chip debugging and on-chip trace units, valuable functions such as profiling and code coverage are available for the system optimization. Numerous add-on support Real-Time Operation Systems RTOS (CMX, PXROS, MicroC/OS-II)), Linux and other third-party tools. Besides the own graphical user interface a full Eclipse integration with complete cross debugger functionality is part of the Universal Debug Engine.

The complementary equipment family Universal Access Device 2 (UAD2) opens a new dimension of download speed and highest variability of access into the target system.
The Universal Access Device 3+ (UAD3+) as further development is particularly optimized for use in multi-core and multi-target systems with high clock frequencies. Thanks to the flexible pod and connector designs, up to eight various cores and targets respectively can be controlled with different debug protocols. With a memory of up to 4 GBytes, a maximal trace stream width of 32 bit and possible signal clock up to 500 MHz, the UAD3+ is also ideally equipped for fastidiously trace tasks.

UDE/MemTool as integrated part of the UDE or standalone package offers fast and reliable programming of on-chip and external FLASH devices not only during development but also for production and service.
