The ETS-8227 is the latest in the next generation technology 3UOpenVPX product family offered by Creative Electronic Systems. It has been designed to be highly flexible, supporting several signaling protocols simultaneously and complying with multiple OpenVPX profiles. It is ideally suited for demanding systems requiring low-latency distribution of data and/or high reliability computing applications. The ETS-8227 integrates PCIe and SRIO Gen2 switches; connecting five payloads and an upstream node. This is the first 3U Open-VPX switch to allow bridging of PCIe to SRIO at Gen2 speeds.
Multicasting of data is supported. An integrated Board Management Controller implements board management and configuration functions, providing control via IPMI, UART or Fast Ethernet interfaces and facilitating simple updates of the firmware and configuration. The ETS-8227 is available in both industrial air-cooled and conduction cooled versions, meeting the requirements for a broad range of commercial, industrial and military applications. A Rear I/O Transition Module is available to assist in early development with the ETS-8227, providing access to the control plane and upstream data ports.
