CONCEPT: waterproof IP64 tablet PC features 1.8 GHz ATOM Core Duo

CONCEPT International extends its tablet PC series by the robust RT1018 featuring Intel's fast 1.8 GHz ATOM Core Duo processor and Windows 7 Professional. As with all other tablet PCs, numerous hardware components, such as 1D/2D barcode scanner, magnetic and chip card readers, as well as RFID, 3G, GPS or camera are available for the new tablet. In addition, the RT1018, which operates without a fan, meets protection class IP64 (water- and dustproof). An extensible 32 GB solid state disk is used by the RT1018 for fast data transfer. As a result, the tablet is also protected against impacts and falls from up to 1 m height and guarantees long, failure-free operating times. For this purpose, its front side meets the requirements of protection class IP64 and is thus, perfectly protected against dust and rain. Its many combinable hardware extensions offer companies numerous advantages: The tablet is optionally available with barcode scanner (1D/2D) or RFID for error-free data acquisition. This way, data can be quickly read via barcode, acquired from magnetic strips or directly stored on the tablet PC via the 3 megapixel camera. Compatibility problems are prevented by directly integrating these options into the housing. Microsoft's proven Windows 7 Professional is used as operating system.

The RT1018 features a 26.4 cm resistive touchscreen display with 1024 x 768 pixels as well as multi touch supporting gesture control as well. A digitizer function extension is optionally available allowing problem-free handwriting recognition. A carrying handle allows practical RT1018 transport as well as comfortable handling and operation. Direct access buttons for easy menu navigation can be found on the right side of the carrying handle. A 2 GB DDR III working memory is a further technical feature. For network communication the RT1018 is equipped with an 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module. Bluetooth is available for the wireless connection of peripheral equipment. A GPS receiver is optionally available for satellite-supported navigation. For data and location transmission an optional 3G/UTMS module is offered. The RT1018 is accommodated in a robust PC plastic housing. Its dimensions are 270 x 265 x 29 mm. The total weight including batteries amounts to 1.8 kg.
