NORCO announced an ultra low power mini-ITX motherboard named “MITX-6930” for industrial and embedded applications. This MITX-6930 brings the newly released Intel Atom processors to the Mini-ITX motherboard using either the 1.86GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor N2800 or the 2.13 GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor D2700. Those two new processors not only feature an improved graphics core but also feature Intel’s 32nm process technology, 2×512KB L2 cache and DDR3 system memory with up to 4GB support. Both processors are dual-core with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology support up to four threads, resulting in greatly improved system performance. MITX-6930 is powered by the latest Intel Atom processors which are built on 32nm process technology with 2×512KB L2 Cache and DDR3 system memory with up to 4GB support. The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3650 and the memory controller are integrated on the same chip, enabling more space-efficient solutions. The Thermal Design Power of the dual-core Intel Atom processor D2700 is 10 W, while the TDP of the dual-core Intel Atom processor N2800 is only 6.5W enabling further power reductions, smaller systems and performance improvements, and providing customers a high performance embedded design platform that requires low power operation.
The standard 170x170mm form factor motherboard with low power consumption can support rich I/O and comes with a high connectivity and expansion options. Two SATAII ports, one Mini-PCIe SSD (optional), six USB2.0 ports, six COM ports, three audio jacks, 1*LVDS connector supporting single channel 18-bit LVDS interface, one 32bit PCI slot, and two Mini PCI Express expansion slots with one supporting 3G/WiFi/SSD (optional), enabling easy integration. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports are also available for high speed networking and one SIM card slot for 3G module. All this connectivity is packed into a space-saving, power-efficient, and cost-effective Mini-ITX motherboard, providing more flexible peripheral expansion options.
The Atom D2700 and N2800 utilize the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3650 with a rendering clock of up to 640MHz. The new graphics core offers DX9 support and HD decoding (MPEG2, VC1, AVC, and H.264) with Blu-Ray 2.0 support, and also offers more advanced acceleration support. NORCO’s MITX-6930 can support DVI/VGA dual independent video display with onboard 1x VGA, 1xLVDS and 1x DVI video output. The video output is complemented by three audio jacks for a complete audio/visual solution.
