The new CES RIO Single Board Computer family features Freescale QorIQ processors, PMC/XMC sites, optional userprogrammable FPGAs, integrated in various form-factors, such as OpenVPX, VME, CompactPCI and PrPMC/XMC. The multi-core processor design is well suited for applications, which are highly compute-intensive, I/O intensive, or both. The Crosspoint switch or FlexIO permit flexibility and configuration of the payload profile or backplane configuration in accordance to the form-factor. A Board Management Controller is also integrated, providing system status monitoring, logging and dynamic reload (processor and FPGA) functions in real-time. This allows exceptional mission back-up strategies for the entire system. Interconnect flexibility and performance is achieved with PCIe Gen2, SRIO and 1/10GbE switches. Available in both commercial air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions, this family provides the building blocks to meet the requirements of a broad range of commercial and military applications.
