DFI: microATX Embedded boards with 3rd gen Intel Core technology

DFI announces 2 new embedded boards in its product line based on the new Intel Q77 Express chipset supporting the premium performance quad-core Intel Core i7-3770 and Intel Core i5-3550S processors. The Intel HD Graphics 4000/2500 engine integrated into the processors delivers up to 50% 3D graphics performance improvement. MB330-CRM supports 3 independent displays (2 DVI and 1 HDMI) while MB331-DR supports dual independent display (1 DVI and 1 VGA), with up to 1.8x HD to HD transcode performance increase. The Intel Clear Video HD Technology provides advanced imaging capability for Blu Ray and other high definition video processing. Graphics APIs include DirectX 11, OCL 1.1, and OGL 3.1. All these built-in graphics design provide faster HD video processing and streaming without the need of a discrete graphics card.

The new platform offers cost saving solution through better manageability and improved security with a new version of Intel vPro Technology. Performance is further increased through the introduction of Intel Advanced Vector Extensions to the instruction set, providing acceleration of complex audio, video, and image processing.

In addition, this new platform supports Intel Hyper-Threading Technology and the improved Intel Turbo Boost Technology, which enables each processor core to handle two instruction threads and dynamically increase the clock speed when all cores are not fully utilized. This provides increased performance over the previous generation platform for both multi-core and non-multi-core optimized application programs.

The scalable desktop-based platform also introduces Intel Rapid Start Technology which allows faster resume from a standby mode and the Intel Smart Response Technology which allows faster loading of frequently used applications.

The new embedded boards support DDR3 DIMM up to 1600MHz for faster communication between components. It also supports 5.1-channel HD audio with S/PDIF input/output interface, 2 Gigabit LAN for increased transmission speed, and up to 2 UltraDMA 33/66/100Mbps IDE devices (MB330 only) for extending extra hard disk storage. The Intel Q77 Express chipset used on the boards delivers high performance I/O. With the new USB 3.0, it allows your system to process more data load. It provides 4 USB 3.0, 6 USB 2.0, 2 SATA 3.0 ports with speed up to 6Gb/s, 4 Serial ATA 2.0 ports with speed up to 3Gb/s, 6 Serial COM ports, and 8 digital I/O ports for device controls. The board offers additional expansion capability via 1 PCIe x16 slot for video capture card, 1 PCIe x4 slot, 1 Mini PCIe slot (MB330 only), and 2 PCI slots.

All these features make the microATX boards ideal for intensive applications such as gaming machine, industrial control automation, medical equipment, telecom, and transportation.
