HCC-Embedded has released a PPP (Point-to-Point) module for its MISRA-compliant TCP/IP stack for applications that require a high degree of integrity. HCC's MISRA-compliant embedded TCP/IP is a compact, high-quality, high-performance stack that will reduce the risk and cost of using complex software in critical systems. It implements a strongly typed subset of the 'C' language that complies with the MISRA-C:2004 standard. The new PPP module extends HCC's comprehensive set of embedded network protocols and will run on any 32 bit micro-controller.
The new PPP module is extremely fast, and it uses a minimum of resources. The innovative stack design can process packets up to four times faster than some other widely available stacks. The entire stack requires only 14KB of ROM and 12KB of RAM in a fully configured system.Compatibility is a key requirement for embedded systems. The stack can be used with many RTOSes, or without an RTOS, thus allowing users the flexibility to choose what is appropriate for their needs. Support is available immediately for a broad range of 32 bit microcontrollers, including most ARM Cortex-based microcontrollers with Ethernet support.
