Green Hills selected by Altair Semiconductor for 4G wireless broadband solutions

Green Hills Software has announced that its compilers, the Green Hills Probe and MULTI development tool chain, have been used by Altair Semiconductor in the development of its 4G LTE products.  Altair is a developer of ultra-low power, small footprint and high performance 4G LTE chipsets for the 4G wireless broadband technology LTE (Long Term Evolution). LTE meets the requirements of next generation networks including downlink peak rates of at least 100Mbit/s and uplink of at least 50Mbit/s.

The company's product portfolio, which utilizes cores from MIPS Technologies, includes baseband processors, multi-band RF transceivers and a range of reference hardware and product level protocol stack software.
