Green Hills and SafeNet: security technology collaboration agreement

Green Hills Software and SafeNet announce a new alliance focused on the creation of trusted platform solutions for the embedded and mobile markets. The integrations include the support and integration of SafeNet portable smart card-based devices with Green Hills Software’s INTEGRITY Multivisor technology, and the use of SafeNet Hardware Security Modules with Green Hills Software’s managed security services offerings. The integrations enable secure communications, data protection, and authentication on embedded and mobile devices, such as smartphones. The integration of SafeNet’s and Green Hills Software’s solutions provides a flexible and powerful technology solution for some of the world’s most challenging security problems such as Bring Your Own Device: a consumer handheld that can be used in the enterprise, guaranteeing both enterprise data protection as well as consumer privacy. In contrast, other handheld security mechanisms run on top of the mobile OS at application-level and hence are inherently insecure.

INTEGRITY Multivisor is a member of the family of INTEGRITY Secure Virtualization solutions and consists of the certified INTEGRITY real-time microkernel technology coupled with facilities to execute one or more “guest” operating systems. INTEGRITY Multivisor also provides a native, open standards-based environment for critical applications, such as security functionality, fast-boot real-time apps, and platform/OEM multimedia and communications codecs. The INTEGRITY Multivisor advanced architecture enables virtual machines and critical applications to safely co-exist with guaranteed memory, CPU time resources, and strictly enforced device access control. INTEGRITY Multivisor offers several approaches to virtualization in embedded and mobile devices, including paravirtualization, full virtualization with or without hardware hypervisor acceleration, and ARM TrustZone-based virtualization.
