Just in time for the embedded world, COSMIC Software announces immediate availability of software development tools for Controllers based on ARM Cortex-M3 and ARM Cortex-M4. The Package supports both STMicroelectronocis STM32 ARM Cortex-M3 and Freescale Kinetis ARM Cortex-M4. It fully supports theThumb2 Instruction Set for embedded applications and can therefore also be used for any other ARM M3 and M4 based Controller, like for example the new Infineon XMC4000. Target dependant headers and extensions will be provided from COSMIC on demand. This broadens the COSMIC portfolio which already includes Tools for – STMicroelectronics ST7, STM8, SPC Power Architecture as well as Freescale 68HC05 / 08 / 11 / 12 / 16 , Star12, S12X, S12Z, 68000/332, ColdFire, PX and QORIVVA Power Architecture and several other vendors microcontrollers.
COSMIC products and services are designed to minimize costs and maximize the value of software investments for 8 to 32 bit embedded software developers and are used in automotive, communication, aerospace, consumer electronics, office automation and medical instrumentation. The ARM Cortex-M3/M4 tools are based on the field proven and reliable COSMIC technology, which has been helping companies stay ahead of competition, for almost thirty years. The ANSI C-Compiler for this Controller Families has been designed to produce very efficient tight and fast code. Also available are the HLL Debugger ZAP in Software Simulation and Hardware Mode for P&E Universal Multilink Interface as well as for STLink Interface, an Integrated Programming Environment and an Object Level based Source UNIT Tester, to automate non instrumented UNIT Testing from the very beginning up to software integration and validation level.
