Berner & Mattner releases the new version of the Classification Tree Editor CTE XL Professional 2.9. In its latest version, the tool for the systematic identification of test cases offers, amongst others, features for reusing tests, defining default classes and presenting requirements coverage achieved with the test. The new features help to eliminate redundancies and to further optimize the testing process. In addition, the extended command line interface and a comprehensive API facilitate the integration into the users´ tool chains. The referencing of tests in CTE XL Professional now allows for multiple use of individual test sequences. Any initialization, intermediate and final sequences are centrally created only once and can then simply be used in any number of test sequences.
With the new optional default values, the assignment of test steps can be transferred from the respective predecessor, thus simplifying and accelerating the manual selection of test steps in the combination table. The presentation of the requirements coverage achieved with the defined test cases is another significant enhancement. For a long time now, CTE XL Professional has been offering convenient functions for linking requirements and tests. Besides the functions for annotation and requirements tracing (e. g. DOORS) that are already well-known, the new version 2.9 now also offers evaluation reports of the requirements coverage. Test cases can now easily be enabled or disabled for the export and thus be adapted to individual user needs.
The command line interface, introduced in version 2.9, facilitates the integration of CTE XL Professional into individual customer-specific tool chains. All imports (such as mind maps) and exports (for example to Excel, MATLAB and MESSINA) are thus directly usable from the command line or from batch scripts. The extended API also supports the integration of CTE XL Professional into the users´ tool chains.
