With the development mode of Addi-Data’s intelligent MSX-E systems the user can adapt his measurement and control applications to his requirements. The programs run directly on the MSX-E systems, which takes load off the external PCs and the acquired data can be freely processed. For example it is possible to save algorithms for calculations, to adapt the SOAP interfaces to the external hardware or to write commands for external hardware. The Development mode is activated and administrated through the website of the Ethernet systems.
For the compilation of the applications a Cross Compiler for the ARM processor is included. Applications can be written in the languages C, Lua and Script Shell and then be uploaded through the File Manager to the flash memory of the Ethernet systems. Afterwards the development mode can be deactivated in order to avoid the access of other users to the written application. The intelligent Ethernet systems are available with the following functions: Digital I/O, counter (also sin/cos inputs), analog I/O, temperature, pressure, dynamic signals and length measurement. The MSX-E systems have a temperature range from -40° to +85° and have a degree of protection of IP 40, IP 65 or IP 67. They are especially designed for a use close to the measurement point. The Ethernet switch is used for cascading several I/O systems. A separate synchronisation signal outside the Ethernet network allows the user to synchronise several systems in the µs range.
