Green Hills: RTOS receives CENELEC EN 50128 railway safety certification

Green Hills Software announces that its Platform for Industrial Safety has expanded its safety certification support by achieving a SWSIL 4 certification for its INTEGRITY RTOS against the stringent CENELEC EN 50128 standard, which targets software for railway control and protection systems. The certified INTEGRITY operating system forms the core of the Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety, a comprehensive solution comprised of tools, operating system, secure guest OS virtualization, services, and middleware aimed at reliability-critical industrial control, transportation, railway, nuclear control and automation systems.

The Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety delivers INTEGRITY real-time operating system with certification by TÜV and Exida to the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC 61508 and CENELEC EN 50128 standards at Safety Integrity Level 3 and Safety Integrity Level 4 respectively; a safety manual; IEC 61508 SIL 3 and EN 50128 SWSIL 4 certificates and reports; a MULTI Confidence-from-Use report (optional), along with optional middleware and a broad group of industry partners targeting the industrial and functional safety marketplace.

According to DMASS (Distributors’ and Manufacturers’ Association of Semiconductor Specialists),  looks 2010 like the all-time record year for European semiconductor distribution – only one year after a recession.
