The LCD-Pro Evaluation Kit is an advanced FPGA-based LCD video imaging and control solutions platform which enables evaluation and demonstration of the functions of the LCD-Pro Library, a set of flexible, configurable IP cores which can be used to implement versatile and powerful display control, graphics and video applications. The library is based around the industry standard AMBA bus architecture, allowing interconnection of the LCD-Pro IP with a wide range of system components compatible with the AMBA bus. The LCD-Pro IP cores are targeted to Lattice FPGAs, specially optimized for the LatticeECP2 low-cost FPGA family. The library contains several IP providing advanced graphics system functionalities.
The LCD-Pro platform addresses a wide range of active matrix TFT displays from 2 to 23 inches, and enables rapid evaluation of advanced LCD video and touch-screen controller IP.
A high-speed USB 2.0 interface operating at 480 Mbps ensures the rapid transfer of graphics images as well as speeding system programming. The kit comes complete with an included 7” active matrix TFT display with touch-screen capability, video camera, USB cable, power supply and CD-ROM. In addition to the Lattice device, each evaluation platform features 64 Mbyte of DDRAM video memory and a powerful 16 bpp LCD video controller that can be configured for resolutions from QVGA to high definition in 4:3 and 16:9 formats, as well as a 16:10 format for the gaming industry. LCD-Pro supports composite video and analogue VGA input and will accept real-time video input streams.
The Lattice LCD-Pro Kit comes complete with the full LCD-Pro library of time-limited IP and LCD-Pro configurator software and plug-ins on CD-ROM. The LCD-Pro configurator software can be installed on a PC and the LCD-Pro Evaluation Kit connected to the PC via the included USB cable. The kit does not require any additional software for evaluation of the functionality of the included IP.
